Request for Planning & Capacity Building Project Grant Applications Now Open!
Planning and capacity-building projects aim to increase transportation equity in disadvantaged and low-income communities by addressing key challenges and preparing these areas for clean transportation solutions. These projects aim to enhance the local understanding of residents’ transportation needs, foster both organizational and community capacity, and lay the groundwork for implementing initiatives that close transportation gaps and improve access to clean transit options. Applications are now open from December 2nd, 2025, to February 10th, 2026, with approximately $7.5 million available to support around 15 or more grantees. Each project may receive up to $500,000 in funding, and application support will be available to assist interested communities.
Who is Eligible?
Eligible applicants include Tribal governments (federally or non-federally recognized), local governments, community-based organizations (CBOs), and California public schools (K-12).
