Meet our team

OUR MISSION

Elections are about people, and people do not go away after an election. Rather, they continue to live and work in the community. Our approach is to bring their voices to bear during the electoral and non-electoral processes to bring about better governance. To that end, we use data to make that work easier.

In other words, our mission is to provide the data, tools, and strategies organizations and campaigns need to politicize social networks, build social capital, and deepen U.S. civil society.

Jessica Maya Rodriguez

Director of Operations

Jessica serves as DSG’s Director of Operations. She graduated from Berkeley in Data Science with an emphasis on Inequalities in Society at Berkeley. She manages the rest of the DSG research team in her day-to-day functions which include data analysis, marketing, and App development among other roles. In her role, Jessica is focused on empowering underrepresented communities through technology and making transformative changes possible through data science.

Rubi Michelle Gonzalez

Data Analyst

Rubi serves as a Research and Data Analyst for DSG. In her role, she is responsible for data analysis, reporting, and product development. She is passionate about utilizing secondary data analysis to help support marginalized groups. Rubi has a BA from UC Riverside in Sociology and an MS from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in Data Analytics and Computational Social Science.

Gabriela Rojas Cendejas

Research Assistant

Gabriela is a UC San Diego graduate focusing on anthropology and wants to learn more about political geography as a part of the Data for Social Good team.

Luis Garcia

Business Analyst

As a UC San Diego graduate with a focus on International Business Administration, Luis uses his skills to manage and improve projects focused on empowering and representing under-served communities as a part of the DFSG team.

Jeda Dionisio

Research & Data Analyst Intern

Jeda serves as a Research & Data Analyst Intern at DSG. She is a computational social scientist and data analyst whose work focuses on data ethics and the societal implications of emerging technologies. She is passionate about using data-driven research to support the DSG team's mission. She earned a B.A. from UC Berkeley and an M.S. from UC San Diego.

Kiên Vu

Research & Data Analyst Intern

Kiên recently joined the DSG team as a Research and Data Analyst Intern. He has experience assembling national-level datasets on developing countries and is eager to use quantitative findings to support marginalized communities. He is a senior at UC San Diego pursuing a BS in Political Science with a focus in Data Analytics and a BS in Bioinformatics. He hopes to pursue a PhD studying the impact of climate change on democratic institutions.
